Control Object Selection Depth with [SelectionBase]

Selecting multi-part 3D prefabs or nested 2D hierarchies in the Scene view often selects deep child meshes or colliders instead of the primary parent object.

The Tip: Selecting multi-part 3D prefabs or nested 2D hierarchies in the Scene view often selects deep child meshes or colliders instead of the primary parent object.

How to Use: Place [SelectionBase] on the C# script attached to your top-level parent object. The first click in the Scene view selects the parent GameObject; a second click targets the individual child element.

using UnityEngine;

[SelectionBase]
public class PrefabRootMarker : MonoBehaviour { }
